There's greater than only a pit right here. Discover the channels main off from the sting. "The pit, which shaped after the channels, exposes a bouldery layer under the dusty floor mantle and is underlain by sediments," NASA said in a release in 2017.
In accordance with NASA, this pit and others like it could have subsurface water ice. Future human guests will likely be in search of accessible water as a useful resource.
